The Trade-In

A legacy PHP platform running raw SQL queries — slow, hard to maintain, and lacking modern features. The client, an Oman-based vehicle importer who refurbishes and resells vehicles sourced worldwide, needed a full modernization without losing any existing user data, plus an entirely new capability: a real-time live auction system.

The Rebuild

A complete rebuild — React/Next.js frontend, Node.js backend with Sequelize ORM over the existing MSSQL database (schema restructured, all existing user data preserved and migrated cleanly). Delivered a scheduled, real-time live auction module built on Socket.io, an enhanced account module with a balance-clearance system, React Hook Form validation throughout, and a fully responsive, SEO-optimized site replacing the old framework end to end.

Our role

Backend-focused — built high-performance, scalable APIs to support real-time bidding and the platform's core operations.

Live

real-time bidding, new to the platform

Migrating a live production database mid-rebuild without losing a single existing user is the hard, unglamorous part most rebuilds get wrong — this one didn't. The real-time auction system replaced a feature that didn't exist at all on the legacy platform.
